From support meetings to educational programs, the chapter offers a variety of activities and events to help people with hearing loss connect with each other and learn more about their condition. On June 11th, the chapter held its first in-person support meeting on HOPE (Hearing Other People's Experiences). This event was an opportunity for participants to share their experience with hearing loss, its challenges, and to receive words of encouragement and support from others.

It was a truly rewarding experience for everyone who attended. The chapter also held an interesting and informative conversation with audiologist Jeff Grama, M. A., who has 48 years of experience. Jeff provided important information on the latest developments in hearing aids, his personal observations on over-the-counter hearing aids, and answered many questions from attendees.

On March 26th, the chapter will be hosting Here, My Voice, an event for people who use cochlear implants or hearing aids and are interested in receiving personalized voice classes with a professional vocal artist. This is a great opportunity to invite family and friends to join and learn more about hearing loss. The Diablo Valley Chapter is committed to helping people with hearing loss in the community. They provide outreach to make public places accessible to people with hearing loss, as well as teach them how to defend themselves.

The chapter also works with veterans with hearing loss and offers virtual meetings online via Zoom. The HLAA-DV also participates in Walk4Hearing, a national campaign that brings hope to people with hearing loss in 20 cities. This campaign meets people in their communities to raise awareness and show their support. USC's “Here, My Voice 3” program is another great resource for adults with hearing loss.

This study focuses on improving vocal confidence and the joy of expressing oneself. The HLAA-DV also offers programs that help people with hearing loss connect with each other, learn new technologies and live well. The Diablo Valley Chapter is an invaluable resource for people with hearing loss in the Walnut Creek area.
